WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you boost in specific stats. Each upgrade increases item level by +3. A random extra substat is also increased with each upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more useful, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of weapon or armor. However, the item used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader once every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

Upgrades can cost more based on the level of the item however they'll always be cheaper than buying new equipment. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades to Item Level Upgrade owners for various currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be used on any weapon or tool using an button, which displays a preview of the item at the next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the slot for the item and the current level of the item. For instance weapons cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currency types.

Upgraders for items are available at many locations, including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe.
