I then inserted the key into the ignition and then turned it to the accessory position, without activating the engine. Then I positioned the Plip key toward the receiver on the front of the vehicle. I hit the large plip button, then the small plip button on the remote. The Plip is now functioning. This should work if your key fob is not responding to the remote.
