The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.

robotic-vacuum-cleaner-cleaning-the-roomHe evaluates and tests cleaning equipment, with a focus on robot vacuum cleaner reviews vacuums and mopping combos. These multitaskers can be ideal for those looking to get rid of mopping off their list of tasks. Some of them have excellent mapping and obstacle avoidance. Others even wash and refill mopping pads themselves for a hands-free cleaning.

The Eufy S1 Pro

If you're looking for a robotic vacuum that can also mop, this is the model to go for. It's smaller than other models, making it more maneuverable in tight spaces or under furniture. It features a 220-degree Lidar which, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, offers some of my favorite navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in a robotic vacuum. It comes with a massive 4600mAh battery that lasts for up to 170-minutes if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it is able to run longer in turbo). It can even return to the dock to replenish its battery midway through cleaning.

It's very quick and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms incredibly quickly and the hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways in a single sweep. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to remove dirt, pet hair, and even droppings with ease. Carpet detection boosts power automatically when it encounters rugs and the dual side brushes help draw out debris from corners.

The mopping performance is a little less impressive, but not by a lot. The rotating mop spins at a high rate and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, easily scrubbing up dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm sticks out a little more than other robots. This is useful when you're trying to get into narrow corners or along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to pick up larger pieces of debris, like broken toys and books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've used. It doesn't produce the same amount of noise when mopping or vacuuming and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for its mopping function and is separate from the vacuum. It's easy to install and works well however, it's something you'll need to keep an eye on in case you're purchasing this vacuum solely for the purpose of it mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It has a robust suite of features that make it a great choice for homeowners who want an extremely efficient, flexible, and customizable cleaning machine.

The device is equipped with a powerful and impressive cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map your home want an organized home that doesn't require much time doing chores The Shark Matrix Plus is a excellent option. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation and long battery life make it simple to maintain a clean house with little effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop that is, it can do both vacuuming and mopping. The robot is divided into two parts which include a dry bin and water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping unit that has an elastomer pad. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming however it does mean that you don't need to worry about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.

Our test participants found that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming as well as mopping. Its best feature was its precise map of your floorplan, which it uses to create a route when cleaning. This made it a breeze for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' as well as virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by mop.

We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up pet hair. It was able to collect some of the hair shed by our cats, and even made it into the nooks and crannies of our stairs where other robots have struggled. Its noise levels were fairly low, and there were some nice jingles to signal that it was in the process of getting its work done.

The app was too basic and you had to alter the modules every time you switched between vacuuming and mops. The app isn't able to hold multiple maps, which could be a pain for homes that has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a excellent choice for those who are looking for a smart device that can mop and vacuum.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that can be found in our review, but it comes with some distinct features that are worth taking into consideration. The X1 Omni's main draw is its enormous dock that doubles as the robot's charging base and housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a cleaning sink as well as an automatic 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically empties.

The base has several control buttons that allow you to manually start a cleaning task, recall the robot or run the dock's automatic emptying procedure. Press two buttons to switch off the child lock. This is a wonderful feature for parents worried about their children playing with the vacuum.

The X1 Omni like other robotic vacuums, utilizes its camera to detect obstacles and furniture in its path. It will avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more accurate at recognizing objects.

This can cause the X1 to get stuck if it gets caught in a blockage, such as the power cable that is draped over a rug. It won't work until you manually untangle it. While this was rare however, it was a gruelling experience when it happened particularly since the X1 Omni doesn't have a "stuck" status alert on its application.

The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You will have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad however, mopping pads don't get cleaned or dried between uses. This can lead to mildew and mold.

On the positive side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a big contrast to the utilitarian, black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome sight in a space that is dominated by clunky boxy models.robot-vacuum-mops-logo-text-black-png-or
