The best robot hoover can mop and automatic vacuum and mop robot without needing your attention, and it will leave your floors spotless. Its price is surprisingly low and features that are high-end (such as dirt detection) are a plus.

Make sure to check your robot's brushes frequently for tangled debris and hair. Wash them if needed. Some models will automatically empty their dust bin on board into a larger one at the base, which decreases the amount of fine dust that is released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've tested. They have motors that are top of the quality and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other premium iRobots (including the most powerful model) they utilize smart mapping to create detailed floor plans and eliminate household obstacles like furniture legs. The robots also have a feature called Carpet Boost that increases its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 and the Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our floor tests that test for bare floors, and they're particularly adept in cleaning pet hair. There are some issues however, which hinder them from being our first option. For one, the Q5's navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology and is therefore prone to become entangled in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera to look around corners.

It's still a great option, especially if you want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly unfinished home or office. Plus, it's very quiet and can be used while you're at work, or school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming feature that's offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes that don't stay on for long and don't handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does have self-emptying docks, however. If you're in need of it, the mopping pad can be replaced with one that is wet in just a few just a few seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that can also mop floors. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it simple to clean and effective at tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also features self-emptying dustbins as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot vacuum for carpets, but it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

This top-performing mop and vacuum combination makes use of advanced sensors to dodge obstacles and pet waste and it will learn the layout of your home over time to ensure more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. It comes with a battery life that is similar to other models.

You can instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mop and extend them when it's in a room with carpet which prevents cross-contamination. Its flex asors, which include cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.

Like other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, offering a simple mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only real drawback is that it's still quite an eerily noisy device, which can be problematic if you run it in the morning before work, or at night when you try to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive, but it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally powerful and look better. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that's very capable however, it will cost you more and produce more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot vacuums with mop mop and vacuum. It has a number of features that are advanced and will make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner, similar to Ecovacs the top of the line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It has a multifunction dock which automatically empty the vacuum's bin, refills the water tank, and washes and dries the mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of the combination of LIDAR and structured light to map out floor plans and identify obstacles, making it more efficient than its top competitors. It also has a front mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time but this wasn't foolproof in our tests and could be confused with obstructions or power cords.

Its vacuum cleaner has the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also has an option known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the home based on how dirty these areas tend to be.

If you have a bigger home, it is worth selecting a model with a spot or zone cleaning mode. This lets you instruct the robot on which part of your home needs to be cleaned using the app or voice control. A stair mode can be useful if you have a large furniture. For families with busy schedules, a recharge function and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to pick up where it left off could be very beneficial.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you would think from its price. It is a great job cleaning, removing 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad and a rotating motion that is more efficient than most of the robot mop cleaners that we've examined. And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured application and a self-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate an exercise in mapping, which gathers information on your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, or to create a spot-clean. You can also use it to rank your most filthy areas for greater efficiency. The app also grants access to a host of features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuum that mops vacuums, which means it can get to corners and under furniture more easily. It also has a strong suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for pet hair. You can also set up a spot-clean which will thoroughly clean a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It does a good job vacuuming but is more prone to get caught on low thresholds and is a bit louder than the other top robotic vacuums we've tried. It also has a less intuitive app and a tiny base station that doesn't double as an emptying bin.
