Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The statistics of an item are improved by upgrading it, which is also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment provides an increase in linearity of any stat.

Players can recycle six items at a time to gauge the upgraded component of each item. The cost of recycling items increases depending on their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an item upgrade is a way to boost the stats of your weapon and armor. This can be achieved by a variety of methods through the use of upgrade components or by increasing the rarity of an item or its mark level. A lot of items can be reforged to boost their value.

Upgradeable items can be found all over the game, both around the world and as rewards for missions. They can also be created by players. The primary method to upgrade gear is through the use of upgrade components, which are components that can be inserted into equipment. Most equipment has upgrade slots, and most require a certain upgrade level. Some upgrade components offer specific bonuses, while others give an overall bonus.

There are many types of upgrade elements in the game, such as universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments, can be put on any equipment and provide smaller bonuses than equipment-specific upgrades. Glyphs are only available in gathering tools. They offer a variety of bonuses, from increasing the speed of an item's gathering to providing additional crafting materials.

To upgrade an item, select it from your inventory and open the Upgrade window. This will display an overview on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected stats are after the upgrade, along with any materials or components required. If you don't have enough of either, the Upgrade button will be marked as Blocked.

The upper-right side of the screen shows the amount of upgrade components required to create an item. The cost of an upgrade increases with the level and rarity of the item increase. However you can lower the cost of upgrades by purchasing them from a vendor, or trading them with other players.

Almost all weapons can be upgraded using a prefix upgrade like an insignia, or a rune. Many are upgraded by suffix upgrades. These upgrades can be used to add an adjective to the item's name for example "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to communicate visual information. They are animated to grab the attention of the viewer and stimulate curiosity. The glyphs' animation mimics body language, making them more effective at conveying the message across linguistic barriers. Glyphs also improve the retention of the message by triggering an experience of familiarity in the brain.

Each glyph comes with a range of values that it can increase a stat's value according to the item upgrades when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an artifact. This is the highest value that the glyph can increase a stat's value by, not the amount that it actualllled. This will alter the layout of the item's window, and allow up to six items be selected for recycling. Recycling an item can add a small amount of points to its level gauge. This amount is determined by the item's rarity as well as its own level, so items with higher levels are more useful to recycle than lower-level ones.

In addition to tokens for rerolls players can also use Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to roll the traits of a weapon in an upgraded unit. Rerolls are based on a % chance to determine a weapon's trait. If it rolls higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it is lower the weapon is left as it was. Weapons can be rerolled up to three times.

Rerolls are a good option to upgrade an item, but users must be aware that it could reduce the overall ilvl the weapon due to the number of rerolls used to increase the weapon to its ultimate ilvl. This reduction effect is most effective on Diadems and ring items that don't have alternatives to raise their ilvls.

The reroll system has been criticized by players for being too expensive, and it would be more equitable to let players pay for it in the form of money or food items which would allow players to modify their build without wasting time and effort. The developers aren't planning to implement paid rerolls at this stage of the game's development. They're planning to include a potion that will allow players to change their race in the near future.

Leveling

There are a variety of ways to increase the level of an item upgrading upgrade. The first is to increase the upgrade amount, which increases the value of upgrading the stat. The second option is to boost the impact of the upgrade, which boosts the healing or damage for an individual stat. Finally you have the option to upgrade the base item to a higher upgrade type. Once this is done, the new item will retain its iLevel however it will have the upgrade effects of the upgraded type of item.

It is important to remember that upgrades can be random. Most of the time the chance of a better roll will come from the glyphs, but there are also opportunities for greater or special rolls. The type of the item will determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a unique or rare item to a special item type, it's likely to getting an upper level.

The cost of upgrading items can be expensive especially if you're upgrading a piece of equipment from a standard to the legendary track. The price will be based on the item's base iLevel and the number of upgrade levels it comes with. Some upgrade tracks also require crests in order to get to the next level.

If you're lucky the upgraded item will attain the highest level on its upgrade track and gain an additional effect. This will give the item level upgrade a significant upgrade value. The bonus effect will change with each upgrade level, however. In general the upgrade effect is increased by a value of +3.

The iLevel also changes depending on the item's upgrade path and its base level. For example an item that has been upgraded from being a scarce or unique item to an outstanding one will have the chance to gain the enhanced defense of the new base item.
