The Jeweler can boost the quality of gemstones in stages ranging from Crude up to Royal. Depending on the tier of the gem, it will provide a different stat boosts when it is inserted into gear, weapons and jewelry.

The Jeweler can craft all kinds of gems, with the exception of rare and legendary ones, which you must attain certain levels to gain. Like other upgrade components jewels can be swapped by a different identical jewel without damaging the original one. However you can only swap out one jewel in a piece of equipment only once.

The use of more jewels in a move can make it feel more comfortable, and is often performed to enhance the aesthetics of the movement. Jewels also enhance performance and make an outer layer that is more durable than steel so that repeated friction caused by pivots does not damage them.

In addition to the above upgrades additionally, players can acquire glyphs for their shields and weapons from a Glyphmaster. These glyphs provide a small boost and can be freely traded, but they're not guaranteed to appear as loot.
