WoW Item Upgrades

Item upgrades--more commonly known as "upping"--are items and enchantments that can be incorporated into armor and weapons to boost their effectiveness. These upgrades can increase the gauge of an item by a specified amount of points. The cost of these upgrades increases depending on their rarity.

A perfectly made version of this armor is highly sought-after in the melee PvP community for its ability to limit the damage caused by weapons.

Type-restricted upgrades

Upgrades are an essential part of the equipment crafting process. They can boost an item's stats and make it stronger or less durable, and even add an additional benefit. They also affect the item's appearance. While some upgrades are universal, others have special rules for applying to armor or weapons. The wrong upgrade can ruin a weapon that was otherwise excellent, and could even render it unusable.

In general you can only upgrade an item upgrader mod of equipment up to the level of its highest-level counterpart. This means that you can only upgrade the helms, body armors and gloves and shields to the same level as their top-of-the-line counterparts. Weapons, on the other hand can be upgraded to the level of a sword. This doesn't increase the weapon's ability to deal damage, but can reduce the value of its trade.

To upgrade an item, you need to purchase flightstones and crests. The amount you pay for each depends on the item's level and slot. Upgrades to swords, for instance will cost more flightstones than an upgrade to a cloak. You can also receive discounts on the number of flightstones or crests required to upgrade an item.

When you upgrade an item, it fills its diamond-shaped indicator. Each step raises Tier level by one-third. The maximum Tier level is Tier 3. It can take several upgrades to reach this level, depending on the item. It is important to remember that any procedure that may be used to mount a disk must not be performed during the process of upgrading. It is also important to ensure that the disk you're upgrading is not being used as a system drive.

Enchantment allows you to change white or Common items to blue or rare ones. It can be done at Eleanor's Enchantment Shop in the Capital District. This procedure does not add gem or rune slot to the equipment. However, it does change the dimensions of the equipment. It increases the equipment's size by two categories smaller. For example an example, a Stormtrooper armor is Medium and Blaster Pistol Small.

Universal upgrades

Universal upgrades are upgrades that can be made on any kind of equipment. This includes armor and weapons. The upgrade components are typically random, but they can also be found from completing Side Quests. Universal upgrades can be temporary or permanent, and they can overlap with Power-Ups. They can be linear or branching.

Universal Upgrades start when "internal technology" can provide sentient beings new capabilities that they are unlikely to develop in natural ways. Examples of internal technology include prostheses or implants. This tys similar to upgrading a gem using the use of a gemcrafting table.

Jewel tiers are determined by the number of modifiers that they have. Higher-tier jewels have more modifiers than lower-tier jewels. The primary effect is determined by a jewel's tier. The secondary effect is random. The players can use luck potions to increase their chances of receiving better secondary effects.

Jewels can also be added to objects with sockets that match as with other upgrade components. For example, a Garnet Pebble (gemstone) and an Adorned Garnet Jewel (jewel) both provide a bonus to strength, however the Garnet Pebble will only increase regular hits, while the Garnet Jewel also boosts the player's strong attacks. Jewels can be put into all levels of armor, weapon, and accessory slots, as well as certain trinkets that are rarer or exotic nature which require a slot to be empty.

Requirements

Item Upgrades in WoW allow players to upgrade the levels of their equipment set pieces, weapons, and trinkets above their current item level from specific Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor sources. These upgrades boost the stats base of the item, and some come with special effects (such as Dolphin's Grace, which allows players to feel like dolphins when they swim). These upgrades can be obtained by upgrading the item or by salvaging it. Different items will drop different upgrade components.

The upgrade process is quite complex, but simple. The player chooses the item he wishes to upgrade, and then clicks on the Upgrade button. A window will appear with the different upgrades available for this item. This window will display the upgrade level, any upgrade type bonus (such as Tech Points or Quality Chance) as well as the cost of the upgrade. The upgrade level is displayed in an upper bar on the top of the screen. the bonus type for upgrades is shown below it.

The upgrader will require the user bring the item to the upgrader, who will then explain how to upgrade the item. The player will then have to provide the proper currency to make the upgrade, and may be required to supply additional materials when needed. The requirements for this are determined by the level of the item. Weapons have more stringent requirements as opposed to armor.

Many upgrade recipes come with the list of acceptable material in addition to the necessary components. This list outlines what other upgrade components can be used on the item upgrade, and includes a flag indicating whether that item upgrading is guaranteed to boost or additional effect. This is important as the value of an upgrade may vary greatly depending on its "extras. For instance, perfectly rolled gear can be worth much more than a non-upgraded model.
