World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses like crit chance and PvE damage.

For instance an item with the upgrade template that ends in % will gain 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item upgrade is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item level upgrade level increases.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons, and trinkets to provide a stat bonus or extra effect while they're in use. These can be obtained by making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to devices that have slots. The item must be upgraded to blue before the component can be applied. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they can't be used multiple times or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are a type of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascended equipment, as well other items that are not ascended. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade could be prefixed or a suffix changing the name of the equipment to which it is used (for instance "Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions of the item using fewer upgrade crystals than they need to reach the same level using normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defence attributes of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades can be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. They can also be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or buying them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals per.

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of an item will be dropped in the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their equipment even if they are unsure how much it will be improved after a reset.

The process of upgrading an item can be costly and it's possible that the item will eventually become obsolete, or even break, when the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items to double or even eliminate the chances of failure, as well as some upgrades that offer a bonus when reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs buff the power of all nodes in a radius around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded various ways, ae nodes too.

Leveling

The upgrade system for items allows players to boost the effectiveness of certain items by adding upgraded components. This is also known as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with a level, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items may be leveled up to a maximum of 385. Each level of an item requires a different number of components to be reached and the costs for upgrading increase as the item gets advanced in level.

Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or bought from NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to level up the item. Once enough points have been earned, the upgrade will be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When an item is upgraded by a player to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a different item of the same kind. This means that the same armor piece will become an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item will also have a unique bonus. This could be a problem in that it could make the item upgrade more expensive if you don't require it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can reroll item upgrades. This will cause the item to be traded for a new one, which will have a level 1 base and a completely different set of extra bonuses. This is useful for certain items, however it's not something that should be done regularly, item Upgrader mod as it could waste lots of resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled several times, increasing their value and allowing the player to customize their equipment. One example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player repeatedly enters and exits water (or is able to swim like dolphins). The item can be upgraded multiple times, increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is highly valuable in PvP. A properly rolled version can be worth 50 times the value of the non-upgraded counterpart.

Requirements

The item upgrader allows players to raise the level of their equippable equipment (armor, weapons trinkets, and weapons) above ilvl385 by presenting the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces improve the strength of their base defense and weapon upgrades items boost their base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity.

All items can be upgraded a maximum of five times, except for hero gear which can be upgraded up to eight times. Each time you upgrade an object, it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures will cause the item to return to its original state which means that the player has to pay for more resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item upgrader mod isn't upgraded, the experience bar in its growth bar will be reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it earned, such as the chance to crit damage to attack, other effects (such as a higher healing rate over time or the speed of reloading). However, the player may continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon gains an increase in its crit chance, the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. Slots is a new attribute that was added to the definitions of items. The value is recalculated each time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a standard equipment item might have 5 upgrades, each costing 25600 Technology Points, 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items are less expensive per upgrade.

Premium items may have different upgrade requirements from normal equipment. For example, they may need less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. Players will still have to take each piece of gear they wish to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each equipment upgrade requires different amounts of upgrade ingredients in addition to the expenses listed above.
