It's also a breeze to push and feels solid when you're navigating kerbs and woodland pathways. Plus, it's a dream to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has built a reputation as the ultimate light-weight buggy for jet-setters and city dwellers alike, due to its super nimble manoeuvrability and fold-down that fits into the overhead luggage of aeroplanes. The latest version has independent suspension on all four wheels made of Hytrel elastomer, which allows it to perfectly navigate all terrains and types'.

The YOYO2 frame base along with the curved fabric bassinet and the 6+ month colour pack come together to make a stylish and elegant pushchair that is easy to look at, with a subtle but elegant aesthetic and tasteful branding. The base frame weighs less than a kilo, and is so light it is able to be lifted from the box with just one hand.

It's also easy to attach or remove adaptors or attachments such as the hood, for example, snaps onto the YOYO2 by clicking - as well as being machine washable at 30deg to remove staining from rice cakes that have been smashed and half-dissolved carrot puffs. It can be used as a pram from birth with the Newborn Pack or bassinet, or converted into stroller at 6 months using the YOYO Connect additional chassis.

2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore

The Evenflo Pivot Xplore is a great option for parents who are looking for a stroller that can be used in a variety of ways. It can be converted from a single stroller sale to wagon by simply flipping the handle, so parents can select the option they want to use on their adventure. The wagon can hold one or two kids from 6 months old to 5 years, and it comes with a spacious storage basket for everything you need on the go.

The Xplore has dual canopies which can rotate from front to back, offering adequate sun protection for the entire family. It also has a footwell, which is not as deep or wide as other wagons, which means it may not be ideal for long excursions or for napping.

The frame on the Xplore is solid and sturdy, although it does not have as much flex as some of the other wagons we tested. It is also more difficult to fold than many of the other models, and it does not secure when folded. It is easy to move however, and fits through doors with a width of 28 inches.

3. Delta Children LX Side-by-Side

This basic double stroller from Delta Children is an exceor rotate. This is useful for navigating through rough terrain. When we walked along the stony path we let them swivel and it performed well although it did seem slightly bumpier than other models that we tested.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2

Baby Jogger is best known for its three-wheeled, all-terrain strollers for jogging. But they also produce a wide variety of pushchairs that have four wheels. City Tour 2 is their most popular model. It is simple to fold and fits easily into the trunk of a car even with a carrycot attached.

It is a bit heavier than other strollers that we tested however the wheels are made of rubber composite, so it feels sturdy and durable. It is easy to maneuver on various terrains and even with two kids as well as a shopping bag and other things.

Both the seat and the carrycot come with hoods that are able to be lower to reveal UV50+ sun canopy extensions. They are durable and waterproof, in contrast to other hoods for prams, which can be blown back into toddlers faces.

It doesn't have a lot of storage space, however it does come with a huge basket that's large enough to fit a changing bag as well as plenty of groceries. You can also connect it with the Baby Jogger infant car seat to create a traveling system for babies up to 20 pounds (car seat and adapters sold separately). They also work with flip-flops.

7. Babyzen Duet

This budget pushchair is easy to operate and features a great dual suspension. It can be folded by one hand and comes with a handy carrying strap. It's also super lightweight and sturdy. The seat is reclined in many positions and is equipped with a double breathable mattress that is suitable from birth.

The canopy/seat features two extra-large fixed or flip-out sun visors. Both are UPF50+. The toggle closure isn't the best as it’s not as quiet as Velcro and could wake up napping babies.

The Duet is an angled stroller that can accommodate twins or siblings. (Up to 22kg per seat). It's compatible with two infant car seats and works with some carrycots. In twin mode the seats can be facing each other or can turn around and face parents, theoretically reducing sibling fights over who should sit with mom and dad. It comes with a huge tray for gears, a bottle holder and snack tray. It also has an automatic frame lock and a superior compact fold.

8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2

The Thule Urban glide 2 is a great jogger for parents who love to be active. It's one of the lightest single running stroller strollers that you can buy for your child. It comes with great safety features like five-point harnesses and a secure wrist strap. It also features a twist hand brake which is different than the lever type found on competing models.

The seat is padded and offers a large area to sit. However, the seat isn't as deep as those of other runners (it's just 10 inches deep") The storage bin is equipped with a zippered cover to help keep items secure. It can hold up to 10 lbs., which is sufficient for most diaper bags.

The Urban Glide 2 doesn't come with adapters that will fit the majority of bassinets and infant car seats however, you can use them starting from the first day using adapters that work with brands such as BOB, Graco Combi Evenflo Britax UPPAbaby. It folds down compactly and takes between 5 and 10 minutes to put together with no tools. The manual is easy-to-understand and includes multiple languages.
