In our tests the j7+ was quick to remove dust dirt, pet hair and even pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in place, instead of scattering it across the floor. It was able to collect small pieces of gravel, sand, and even a tiny bit of grit. The majority of robots cannot achieve this feat. It did all without getting caught up in our pet's hair.

The j7+, while not as smart as the $1,217 Roomba S9and Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and vacuum deals it isn't able to clean the stairs, is an option for those who need both mopping and vacuum. It's not too expensive and the iRobot App makes it simple to use.

While the iRobot Home app is very easy to use, we've found it to be less reliable than other apps that utilize robotic cleaners. It can take some time to download updates and it can be difficult to know if they are working until you actually see them in action.

Its design isn't as ostentatious compared to some rival models.
