Toto produces the Washlets which are the Japanese toilets that have become so well-known in Japan. These toilets feature heated seats, a deodorizer and bidet in addition to other features.

Before forming Toto its members, they worked as session musicians for Steely Dan[3] Seals and Crofts[4and Crofts[4] Boz Skaggs, Sonny and Cher. The guitarist Steve Lukather was the band's lead singer.

About Toto

Toto was founded in 1976 by guitarists Jeff Porcaro, David Paich (who at the time were also well-known studio players working with Boz Scaggs) and bassist/singer Bobby Kimball. The name comes from the Latin word which means "all inclusive," the group was determined to explore every musical style.

The third album from Toto, Turn Back, was not a success in 1981. However, they bounced back with their fourth album, Isolation, which contained two hit songs including the title track and Roseanna. The album and tour made them a household name around the world.

After a brief hiatus, Toto returns with the album Fahrenheit. It is a departure from the ballads that were featured on previous albums and includes some heavy rock. This was their first platinum album in North America.

In the course of recording the band's fifth album the band loses their manager and are faced with financial difficulties. They decide to record a brand new album and change their name to a different producer. The lead vocalist Fergie Frederiksen leaves the band and is replaced by Joseph Williams, son of legendary film composer John Williams and 1950s actress Barbara Ruick. Joseph Williams is a natural frontman, and gives the band a much-needed boost.

In 1999, the band releases Mindfields and begin an extensive worldwide tour. After a few months in Europe they head to Japan where the shows are sold out. After a short break, Toto resumes recording and begins recording their first live album, Absolutely Live in 1993 which includes the cover of Weezer's track Hash Pipe in response to the band performing their hit song Africa during the recent tour. Toto's touring group includes drummer Lenny Castro and bassist Shannon Forrest and keyboardist Shem Von Schroeck.
